Program in the D.R.C
Sustainable agriculture project
Through this project, agricultural and farming operations will be
conducted and established to maximize food production and delivery
in the Ngandajika (DRC/Congo ). The CDC will conduct research to ensure
the maintenance and restoration of grasslands and the eco system.
Sustainable agriculture is an approach that is ecologically sound,
economically viable, and will contribute to social justice in
farming communities.
The CDC will promote sustainable agriculture and natural resource management
within rural farming communities by providing training and technical support
to farmers. Farmers would be trained in how to conduct their own ecological
experiments so that they may develop appropriate methods to increase productivity
in their farming systems while simultaneously reducing environmental degradation
and health risks.
The CDC will collaborate with local NGOs that work directly with farming communities,
using local knowledge, combined with new technology. These are powerful tools to help
provide high quality services.
Health care
The CDC will collaborate and network with local NGOs and community-based organizations
to improve the overall health of communities in Mbujimayi (DRC/Congo). The CDC will
network with St Dominic Health Care (a community health center) to promote the health
of individuals in the community and surrounding areas, particularly the children, women,
frail, chronically ill and economically disadvantaged.
