To avoid duplication of services, the CDC will encourage collaboration and alliances among the varied organizations providing support services to refugees. CDC programs will include:

The CDC will offer a variety of educational, social, and support services to help newcomers adjust to their new life.

These will include orientation, job-search skills, career development counseling and job placement, as well as specific skills upgrading and certificate programs (ex. computer training).

These will combine health promotion and health education with healthcare services, focusing on community outreach, cross-cultural training, disease prevention and control.

The CDC will facilitate the acculturation process through interaction by introducing newcomers to the American culture and vice-versa.

This program will focus on enhancing orientation for newcomers and will feature the hosting of various events that will bring newcomers and their neighbors together.

This program will collect donated and used equipment , books and educational materials, and then distribute them to institutions, hospitals and schools.

Through this project, agricultural and farming operations will be conducted and established to maximize food production and delivery in the Ngandajika (DRC/Congo ). The CDC will conduct research to ensure the maintenance and restoration of grasslands and the eco system. Sustainable agriculture is an approach that is ecologically sound, economically viable, and will contribute to social justice in farming communities. The CDC will promote sustainable agriculture and natural resource management within rural farming communities by providing training and technical support to farmers. Farmers would be trained in how to conduct their own ecological experiments so that they may develop appropriate methods to increase productivity in their farming systems while simultaneously reducing environmental degradation and health risks. The CDC will collaborate with local NGOs that work directly with farming communities, using local knowledge, combined with new technology. These are powerful tools to help provide high quality services.

The CDC will collaborate and network with local NGOs and community-based organizations to improve the overall health of communities in Mbujimayi (DRC/Congo). The CDC will network with St Dominic Health Care (a community health center) to promote the health of individuals in the community and surrounding areas, particularly the children, women, frail, chronically ill and economically disadvantaged.
